SCAP NS welcomes new staff, former NCC Chair

Bahay-SCAn Formation Center, Tagaytay City - The Student Catholic Action of the Philippines National Secretariat (SCAP NS) is proud to announce the addition of Steven Nelson Segura to their team. Steven, also known as "To Steven," will take on the Resource Generation Specialist and Finance Officer role. He will support the national secretariat in its resource generation plan and strategize and promote SCAP's fundraising efforts with various partners and grants.

Steven's journey with the Student Catholic Action started in the Diocese of Bacolod. He was the SCA President of Negros Occidental High School from 2009 to 2011 and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos from 2014-2016 during his college years. He was also elected as chairperson of the national coordinating council from S.Y. 2014-2016 and served as Interim Chairperson of the International Young Catholic Students Asian Coordination from 2016 to 2017.

Steven volunteered as the Diocese of Bacolod SCA Coordinator despite his full-time job.

Steven will be working closely with Emmanuel Mirus Ponon, the national coordinator, on advocacy and formation, and Aki Longcanaya and Raissa Avery Marfa, part-time coordinators for the "Power of Goodness." This peace program is part of the national movement in collaboration with Friends Peace Teams-Asia West Pacific, and was launched earlier this year. The Student Catholic Action of the Philippines National Secretariat is excited to have Steven on board and looks forward to working with him to further their advocacy and mission.
