SCAP to send 8 reps to Taiwan IYCS Asian Session

FOUR animator-coordinators, two senior high school students, and two college leaders shall team up as the official delegation of the Student Catholic Action of the Philippines to the 13th International Young Christian Students (IYCS) Asian Session and Council (ASC). YCS Taiwan will be hosting the event at the Providence University in Taichung from 29th of July to 7th of August this year.

Preparing for the international exposure and program are, namely, Janielle Kayle Pantaleon and Daniella Linsangan, who are both senior high school leaders from the College of the Immaculate Conception SCA Unit in Cabanatuan City. Sr. Hermina Ebio, MCST, the Central Luzon Cluster Coordinator will join them. SCA Bacolod will send Neil Juanga Jr., Bago City College SCA Animator, Felimar Alelojo, Bago City College SCA College Leader, and Beah Marie Ganarias, college leader from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos. SCA Cebu Coordinator as well as the Visayas Cluster Coordinator, Melvin Pedrosa adds up to the list. Steven Nelson Segura, the SCA Bacolod Coordinator, is part of the IYCS Asian Interim Team which organizes the said program.

ASC happens every after three years after all member-organizations across Asian region decide a resolution. It is the governing body of IYCS where SCA Philippines is a full member. This year's theme will reflect on: "Students moved by Faith Towards Education of the Heart and Environment." One of the outputs expected will be an international campaign for peace and environmental sustainability. The weeklong program includes a community exposure, cultural exchange, thematic workshops, individual and group reflections. Pope Francis's Apostolic Exhortation, "Gaudete et Exsultate (Universal Call to Holiness)" will stand as a reflection document for all the participants.
