SCAP Guidelines in the Pandemic

The Student Catholic Action of the Philippines operation continues in this pandemic following the general guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), the Department of Health (DOH), the DepEd and CHED, and CEAP.


MEMBERSHIP DATA

The unit officers will conduct an inventory covering but not limited to:

  • Membership including SCAn transferees and contacts

  • Internet access of the SCA members

  • Parental consent and involvement 

  • School/college COVID guidelines

CONDUCTING SCAP ACTIVITIES

All essential offline SCAP activities (in person) must adhere to the following:

  • All participants to observe mandatory wearing of face masks always.

  • Practice physical distancing at least one meter apart.

  • Hold activities in open spaces and refrain use of enclosed areas.

  • Register all the participants for contact tracing.

  • Exercise non-touch greetings courteously. 

  • Encourage participants to bring their own materials to minimize contact.

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water and also bring a handy alcohol-based disinfectant.

  • Frequently disinfect high-touch surfaces like (door knobs, switches, faucets, toilet handles, etc)

  • Use earth-friendly masks to protect the environment and sharing extra masks to those who have none.

  • Be updated with all school announcements, attend orientation regarding the prevention of infection, and follow the rules and policies.

  • Secure clearance.

Online SCAP activities are highly encouraged to minimize contamination.

  • Encourage organization and massive participation of SCA online activities aligned to its vision and mission.

  • Explore use of available online tools or technology (such as cloud drive, video conference software, etc.).

  • Get online and offline modules or resources in the SCAP Online repository posted in the SCAP official website: www.scaphilippines.org

  • Request access of technology offered by the Student Catholic Action of the Philippines thru the national secretariat (Call: 046-404-2376, email at mail@scaphilippines.org, or messaging thru www.facebook.com/scaphilippines)

Places with challenging internet connectivity can:

  • Hold conference call of up to six people by mobile phone. 

  • Find creative ways to reach out to SCAns, animator, chaplain, friend or companion.

MEMBERSHIP, DATA PRIVACY, AND DOCUMENTATION

  • Active recruitment of new SCA members continues with the understanding that there are adjustments and changes in the membership process.

  • All SCA activities will streamline its documentation procedures and will optimize use of online access. (e.g. google drive, one drive, etc)

  • SCA discourages collection and publication of personal and sensitive information without the knowledge of each participant. Let us adhere to the Data Privacy Law of the Philippines.

  • Never publish live online meetings that have topics very private for the group in nature. 

NURTURE CHRIST-CENTERED ACTIVITIES

  • Though there are new ways and new approaches in the new learning environment, all proposed SCA online and offline activities shall continue to integrate the gospel values and the methodology of See-Judge-Act.

  • SCA groups may work in partnership with schools, parishes, dioceses and heed to the regional and national directives in conducting activities.
