Tagaytay City – June 8, 2025 – The Student Catholic Action of the Philippines (SCAP) announces its strategic and organizational updates to its National Secretariat (NS) operations for the upcoming school year 2025-2026. These changes aim to enhance efficiency, expand reach, and strengthen the SCAP community across various member-units and arch/dioceses even with the absence of a national coordinator’s groundwork or face-to-face support.
The SCAP NS commits to continue to operate its essential functions under an Advisory Committee. As of the moment, SCAP NS struggles to cope in supporting full-time coordinators to run the national secretariat due to financial challenges. With the Advisory Committee, it assures that SCAP programs will continue to get its support, including assistance in organizing SCA, capacity-building and skills workshops.
The SCAP NS has outlined key priorities, strategies, and activities, focusing on national formation, advocacies, and NS operations. Notable developments include revisiting, revising, and updating the SCA formation program and modules, maximizing the Bahay SCAn Formation Center in Tagaytay City for Peace and Advocacy Training, and integrating advocacy modules with formation programs.
Operational updates include a volunteer-based approach in organizing and implementing national programs and activities and to highly encourage using Bahay-SCAn Formation Center as the venue. Bahay-SCAn Formation Center maintenance and improvements in online communication and coordination with stakeholders are prioritized. The NS acknowledges the need to strengthen coordination with arch/dioceses, develop modules for SCA Leadership, and enhance the network through collaborative programs.
