SCAP National Secretariat, Tagaytay City - The Student Catholic Action of the Philippines, through its National Formation Team, received the approval of the 14th De La Salle University Arts Congress organizing committee for its presentation on: "An Outlook of Catholic Religious Youth Organizations in the Time of Pandemic: A Case of the Student Catholic Action of the Philippines."
The Arts Congress will take place asynchronously from March 8 to 11, 2021. Paper presenters will be submitting a pre-recorded video presentation while the organizers will upload the videos in the official Youtube channel of the congress.
The De La Salle University (DLSU) Arts Congress is an annual event that aims to provide researchers, artists, creative writers, students and art enthusiasts a venue to present and celebrate their creative works and research. The event comprises of art exhibit, conference, and performance. The theme of 2021 Arts Congress is ‘Pandemic, Resilience, and the Arts.’ It will reflect on the profound impacts of the global pandemic on freedom and mobility; how arts in various forms have helped the peoples and organizations endure the confinement.
In June 2020, SCAP launched a survey that aimed to collect the experiences and expectations of its members around the country. The study gathered more than 200 respondents from various secondary and tertiary schools that have active SCA movements. The upcoming presentation in the Arts Congress will highlight the results of the survey.
The SCAP Formation Team facilitated the conduct of the survey, including discussions and reflections about the study. It is hoped that the paper can support the changes and strategies of ministering young people to fit in the challenges faced in the pandemic without veering away from the movement's mission and purpose.
Cyril Ryan Lituañas, SCAP Executive Director, together with Frence Boiser, John Abrico (national volunteers), Melvin Pedrosa (Cluster Coordinator), Elirie Cruspero, Jonathan Reginales, Leslie A. Garcia, and Susan Obo compose the formation team.
