"To Christ the King, Love and Loyalty!” - SCAns practice exclaiming these words at the end of the SCA Prayer and Hymn. This time, we use it as the beginning. At this moment, we are affirmed from the celebration of Christ the King Feast Day last November solidarity month. We prayed together for all and for our movement and we sustained amidst the pandemic. Christ’s reign extends. We are led once again to the true meaning of His birth - the coming of our Savior, the healer of our hearts and spirits. We relive a child’s pure joy within us.
The Student Catholic Action of the Philippines family is grateful to receive the unconditional support of our friends around the world. Though the pandemic tried to lock us down for months in fear, uncertainty, and distress, the power of community - of the Church is sustaining us to bravely face the threats of life - the events introducing us away from joy, hope, and peace. We may have been physically locked down, but time nurtured us" to acknowledge, appreciate, and love each person” no matter where they are and regardless of who they are. We are taught of a love that transcends from our limitations, a LOVE WITHOUT BORDERS.
Thank you, dear SCA chaplains, animators, student leaders, alumni, partner organizations, and friends in the youth ministry! You are all holding us tight, making us strong and resilient. Dreams and plans may have been shattered, but months of physical isolation have freed us towards a new way of goodness, acts that bring us to work for love, justice, and solidarity. Acts we are challenged to live day by day. Let us together dream and work once again to a new path.
"No one can face life in isolation… We need a community that supports and helps us, in which we can help one another to keep looking ahead. How important it is to dream together…let us dream then as a single human family, as children of the same earth which is our common home…bringing his or her beliefs and convictions, each of us with his or her own voice, brothers and sisters all.”
A hopeful and joyful Christmas to all!
