Tagaytay City - The National Secretariat of the Student Catholic Action of the Philippines announces the cancellation of the 13th SCAP National Leadership Conference in the Diocese of Bacolod this coming 14th to 18th of April 2020. It reschedules the event instead of from 26th to 30th of October 2020, pending availability of the same venue.
The decision is carried after a week of deliberation among the national secretariat, national coordinating council, and the SCA Bacolod local organizing committees. Recent worries and concerns related to the outbreak of Novel Corona Virus (nCOv) prompted the organizers to cancel the triennial gathering. The Department of Health, Department of Education, and Commission on Higher Education released health advisories and memorandum prohibiting or avoiding out-of-school activities extended until March this year. Although April is not yet covered, it can affect significantly participation, which will require strict school approval, tight medical clearance, early transportation bookings, and parents permissions. On top of these reasons is the health and safety of all attending delegations.
All concerned coordinators are advised to update interested participants regarding the changes. In the meantime, the provisional program will be the same. A separate email will be sent for the updated details, which shall include the final venue, deadline of registration, and other pertinent requirements.
