Youth Ministry Awareness Week starts Dec 9, NYD is Dec 16

The Episcopal Commission on Youth, through its Chair, Bishop Leopoldo C. Jaucian, SVD, DD, invites the whole Youth Ministry in the Philippines to celebrate the Youth Ministry Awareness Week (YMAW) from December 9 to 15. The simultaneous National Youth Day (NYD) held annually will still remain at its constant date on December 16.

The NYD 2016 theme follows the theme of this year's World Youth Day, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." [Mt. 5:7]

ECY shares the NYD 2016 Formation Program which will be available through the links below. This is to aid local youth ministries in the local celebration of the NYD this December 16. Bishop Jaucian, in his letter, earnestly enjoins all youth ministers to gather and to lead young people in meaningful local or diocesan level celebration of the NYD which the CBCP appointed every 16th of December. ECY is also bringing to an attention for December 16 Mass Collections wherein seventy percent (70%) will be allotted to diocesan youth ministry office and thirty percent (30%) to the ECY.

For the Student Catholic Action member units, they are humbly reminded to share at least 50% of the total annual membership fee (Php 1,200) before Christmas Break. The contributions on December 16 as well as the membership solidarity share for SCA Philippines will form part of the aid to support the commission, promote the youth ministries and operationalize the SCA national programs.
