New Formation and Advocacy NS Staff hails from Cebu

Tagaytay City, Philippines – The Student Catholic Action of the Philippines National Secretariat announces its new addition to the team, filling in the position of National Coordinator on Formation and Advocacy. Karen Claire Belocura, a full-fledged SCAn from the Archdiocese of Cebu, begins her journey by accompanying young people and stakeholders of SCAP all over the Philippines. She will focus on organizing and implementing SCAP formation core programs, including the organization’s action and advocacy commitments.

Karen was inducted at the University of San Jose Recoletos Senior High School Unit in 2016. She took SCA unit leadership positions until 2018. From 2020 to 2022, she was elected as the Secretary General of the Archdiocese of Cebu Student Catholic Action Secretariat – a challenging mission during the pandemic where she spearheaded recruitment activities, managed external affairs, and co-managed social media engagement.

Karen graduated Magna Cum Laude in Psychology from Cebu Normal University. She is a licensed Psychometrician who has worked as a human resource specialist for a private company. She will work with Steven Nelson Segura, SCAP’s current National Coordinator for Resource Generation.
